Chenthuran Balasubramaniam

Cycling has become close to my life over the past 2 years. While thanking everyone who supported/ influenced me to be glued to the sport, I’m happy that the sport has given some of the most unforgettable memories of my life.

I have had the privilege of riding with some of the best and an awesome bunch of people over the past 2 years of 1333Bikeathon in Sri Lanka. This year looks promising, especially after seeing the results of the past years of the ride. I believe that every citizen has a role to play in eradicating and reducing the thought of suicides in our country and across the world. .

Currently there are around 15 people on average who die by suicide everyday in Sri Lanka. For every suicide, there are ten others who fail in their attempts. 1333Bikeathon “Out of the Shadows” is a bike ride for 1333km around Sri Lanka over 13 days to raise awareness and funds towards CCCline, a free Telephone Counselling service operated by CCC Foundation in Sri Lanka. The ultimate aim of CCCline is to prevent suicides in Sri Lanka by encouraging people to call its toll free and confidential 1333 phone number.

I believe that every citizen has a role to play in eradicating and reducing the thought of suicides in our country and across the world. We together can help those who need support. CCCline will indeed continue to make a difference to those in need of help..! Let’s help people out of their dark shadows and silent cries.

I would like to encourage all cyclists to join the 3rd ride of the 1333Bikeathon and all others to contribute towards the well-being of the people in need…

Please visit my page and support me to raise funds for this awesome cause. Sponsor Me to keep the phone lines open at CCCline1333 for those going through crisis, or simply want to talk to someone about their problems. THANK YOU!
