In August and September last year, I took part in the 1333Bikeathon, riding 1333km over thirteen days. As a group, we successfully raised funds needed to sustain the CCCline in Sri Lanka for another year. Most importantly we raised awareness of the service among the community.

Now, here I am again planning to dedicate a fraction of my time – with the support of my family and friends – in 2016 to raise awareness about of the CCCline telephone counselling service and support the Sri Lankan community.

I had the privilege of visiting the CCCline Center during last year’s visit, and was very moved by the commitment of the volunteers.  I saw for myself the significant impact their phone conversations have on well-being, and suicide awareness and prevention in the local community. I understand the importance of their work.

I can say the 2015 ride was fantastic. It was great to experience the fresh tropical breeze first thing in the morning and the warmth of the Sri Lankan people and to absorb those breathtaking views. It was one of the safest, best organised rides with an enthusiastic peloton of riders and a dedicated support group.

I know this year’s ride is going to be another fascinating and a successful ride for a great cause. With your support, the CCCline can continue to make all the difference in the lives of people who come to need the service.

Please sponsor me so we can reach our fundraising target to keep the phone lines open at CCCline for those going through crisis, or simply want to talk to someone about their problems. THANK YOU!
